Peter Ledochowitzsch

Peter Ledochowitsch is co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Canaery, a neurotechnology company working to digitize the sense of smell. He leads the development of Canaery’s nose-computer interface and computational pipelines for decoding and analyzing olfactory neural signals. Previously, Peter co-founded Cortera Neurotechnologies, Inc., a startup focused on wireless, implantable brain-computer interfaces, which was acquired by Nia Therapeutics in 2019. He earned his PhD in bioengineering at UC Berkeley/UCSF, where he developed flexible, transparent high-resolution microelectrode arrays and performed electrophysiological recordings from rodent auditory and motor cortices. As Senior Scientist at the Allen Institute for Brain Science, Peter contributed to the development of Neuropixels 1.0 probes, advanced holographic optogenetics methods, and computational pipelines for behavioral and physiological data analysis. His work spans neural interfaces, signal processing, and the translation of laboratory neuroscience into practical applications. Peter is an inventor on multiple patents and has over 50 peer-reviewed publications, cited more than 5,300 times.
