Gabriel Lavella, PhD, is the co-founder and CEO of Canaery, a company pioneering the world’s first commercial Nose-Computer Interface (NCI) to digitize scent. With expertise in biosensing, nanotechnology, and advanced sensor systems, he leads Canaery’s mission to unlock the hidden world of scent—bringing biological-level precision to scalable, deployable detection technologies.
Dr. Lavella earned his PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, where he developed molecular nanomachines for diagnostics and drug delivery. He holds degrees in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and has served as a scientific and technical advisor to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), shaping groundbreaking programs at the intersection of biology, engineering, and national security.
